Looking forward to what is next for River Stone Students
For those who have been involved with River Stone Students for a long time, you might remember the weekly updates that I used to send. When we moved forward with the app, those moved to the wayside. However, I have communicated with parents far less regularly as a result, so we will resume a form of that weekly update on the website. I will post it in the group chat on the app each week, and content will include:

→ Updates on what we are preaching through each week, as well as resources to
help better engage your student

The goal is not to give another update for the sake of updates, but to keep you guys informed and help your students stay connected and growing within the youth ministry. This will also cut down on the long messages you receive from me in the app! With that said, here is what we have going on this week.
Escalate | November 1-2 | $40 per student
Escalate is coming up quick, so please get your student signed up! Escalate is our yearly discipleship weekend and this year, we will be studying Galatians 5 together. Students will have the opportunity to worship through song and teaching together, as well as have small groups emphasizing prayer.
The $40 will cover food, activities, and a shirt. We need shirt sizes and a head count to confirm host homes, so please register your student if they plan to go!

Ready | January 24-25 | $100 per student
Ready is a two-day youth conference hosted at Spurgeon College in Kansas City. This is a high school only event and is $100 per student. That cost covers tickets and food for Friday night and Saturday. This conference is teaching-heavy, and will include at least five large group sessions in less than two full days, so please prepare your students for that. This is a wonderful experience for students excited about sitting under strong, expository preaching. We want to ensure that students are prepared to listen and grow at this event, so we will create a study guide over the theme. We are asking families to walk through this study guide and complete it before signing up.
The deadline to signup for Ready is Wednesday, November 20 so that we can get the early bird rate. And because this is a third-party event, we are requiring up front payment by that date. Registration will open in the coming weeks.
I recognize that this event will not be for everybody! It is one of our more expensive outings and you know better than us whether your student will be able to grow from a more mature conference. If you have questions about the financial requirements, please reach out. We don't want students not going because of the cost.

Fun Fall Fellowship | October 13 | Free
This Sunday evening, we will host a fall fellowship event at the Ridenour's home from 6:00-8:30. PM. We will have dinner, a bonfire with smores, and pumpkin carving. If your student wants to participate in carving, please have them bring a pumpkin. We will provide smaller pumpkins to paint as well for those who don't want to.
This is a free event and dinner will be provided! However, if your student does plan to attend, please register them so we have a headcount.

MDWK - Genesis 42
I will be out of town this Wednesday, so Rico Lanier will be teaching, continuing our series Meant For Good, studying the life of Joseph. This week, we will study Genesis 42, where Jacob sends Joseph's brothers to Egypt in search of food after the famine that Joseph predicted had begun. This follows Joseph's rapid ascent from the pit of prison to being 2nd in command to Pharaoh after 13 years of slavery and imprisonment.
I would encourage you to study this passage with your student this week in preparation for Wednesday! As always, MDWK goes from 6:30 - 8:30 PM. We can't wait to see your student there!
